Home Learning 🏡

Good morning Nursery! I hope you are all well and enjoyed playing in the snow over the weekend. Did you make footprints in the snow? Or spot any interesting footprints? I wonder who or what made them?

Did you make a snowman? Was it big or small?

We would love to see any pictures of you in the snow and your snow creations from the weekend. Please send them to:

Today you can practice the sounds we have sent home to you.

You can be a detective and go on a sound hunt around your home. What things can you find that begin with each different sound? How many things can you find? Can you carefully count each of the things you have found? Can you tell your grown up what number we always start with when we are counting? What sound can you find the most things for? Can you use your fast fingers to show the different numbers?

Choose one of the sounds to practice writing and draw the things you found. Remember to write your name on too, so we know which sound detective the work belongs to…

Choose a story to read to your grown up. Can you use the pictures to tell the story? You could take turns with your grown up. You can tell the story on one page and your grown up can tell the story on the next page. We know how fantastic you all are at taking turns in Nursery with your friends.

Can you do some dancing with your grown up to warm up your strong arms? Then you will be ready to draw us a super snowman picture! You will need to draw some circles. Can you tell your grown up where you need to start drawing a circle? Do you start at the top or bottom? Remember all the features we see on a face that you will need to include!

Can you help the Numberblocks search for numbers around your home? What numbers can you find? Can you tell your grown up the numbers you spot? Remember to practice the different ways you can show the number using your fast fingers…

We look forward to seeing what you do. Please send any photos you have of your wonderful work into…

See you all soon,

Pudsey Power!

Nursery enjoyed helping raise money for Pudsey. The children all came dressed in their own clothes and looked fantastic!

We started our day dancing along with Pudsey bear, he has some amazing dance moves! Pudsey can even do a back flip!

Then we had a go at throwing our pennies onto Pudsey! We had to try and throw carefully to make sure they landed on him!

We spent our day doing lots of great teddy activities. We had a tea party for our teddies…

We thought about how teddies were feeling… Were they happy? Sad? Surprised? Worried?

We helped dress teddy bears…

We practised our pencil control, following Pudsey’s patterns and carefully colouring our own Pudsey bears…

We had lots and lots of fun helping Pudsey bear!

Well done Nursery!

Windy Woods 🍁

Nursery went on a leaf hunt. We went right away. It was a wonderful day.

We got to the woods. The little, windy woods!

We couldn’t go over them. We couldn’t go around them. We had to go through them!

Squishy, squashy, squishy, squashy!

Rustle, crunch, rustle, crunch!

The children found lots of wonderful autumn leaves. There were big leaves and small leaves. Long leaves and short leaves, round leaves and pointy leaves, and lots of different colours; red, yellow, orange and brown! The leaves we found looked lovely and each one was different.

We saw a quick squirrel. A quick, little squirrel running through the woods.

Scurry, rush, scurry, rush.

We found a tree horse! A big, strong tree horse. That we rode through the woods.

Clip, clop, clip, clop!

Gallop, trot, gallop, trot!

Then we found a playground with lots of big children, who were all having fun! Lots and lots of fun!

Giggle, run, giggle, run!

Hop, jump, hop, jump!

We came to the retreat. The cosy, warm retreat. We couldn’t go over it, we couldn’t go around it, we had to go in it!

We all had a big drink.

Slurp, slop, slurp, slop.

Then a juicy pear.

Crunch, munch, crunch, munch!

It was a wonderful day!

But then it was time to go…

Back across the playground.

Stamp, stomp, stamp, stomp!

Past the little, windy woods!

Rustle, crunch, rustle, crunch!

Back up the mountain.

Huff, puff, huff, puff!

All the way back, after our colourful, autumnal play.

We went on a leaf hunt and had a wonderful day!

🍁🍂🐿🍂🍁 🍁🍂🐿🍂🍁 🍁🍂🐿🍂🍁

We are already looking forward to our next woodland adventure.

What autumn things can you find Nursery when you go on an autumn adventure with your family? You can bring your autumn treasures to school, to share with your friends. We look forward to seeing and hearing all about them.

Happy Harvest!

The children have been working really hard learning all their songs for Harvest. They looked and sounded fantastic, as you will see.

We are very proud of all the children and hope you enjoy their wonderful singing and dancing!

Such super singing Nursery! Well done on your first performance, you were amazing!
🌟⭐️🌟 You are our singing superstars! 🌟⭐️🌟

After the children’s hard work performing, they enjoyed a very special harvest snack time together. They used their senses to explore the wonderful harvest loaf. The children looked at the bread and wondered what it might be… Maybe a cake, or even a big doughnut! Then we discovered it was a huge loaf of bread. The children smelt their bread, touched their bread and of course they all enjoyed sharing and eating the yummy bread too!

Thank you for watching our harvest performance. I know you will all be so proud of your children and will have given them a huge round of applause at home!
